VOCALIST ALICIA WALLER RECORDS LIVE ALBUM AT CHELSEA TABLE + STAGE ON SATURDAY, JUNE 28 AT 7:00 PM
The vocalist and bandleader will record selections from her upcoming album for a live audience in collaboration with Chelsea Table + Stage and Chamber Music America.
New York, NY – New York City-based vocalist Alicia Waller will perform and record a live concert album at Chelsea Table + Stage on Saturday, June 28 at 7:00 PM. The project is presented in association with Waller’s 2025 grant from Chamber Music America’s Artistic Projects program, funded through the generosity of The Howard Gilman Foundation.
Waller is known for her unique approach blending jazz, soul, and vernacular sound, through which she creates a rich, expressive sonic tapestry that has been praised as a synthesis of splendor and depth.
She will perform with her ensemble Alicia Waller & The Excursion to capture a recording that will serve as the companion release to her debut studio album, Louder Then. Audiences are invited to participate in the rare and memorable experience, sitting in for a live recording of the project’s eight songs.
Louder Then is an artistic demand, written to capture nuances of the “American Dream” amidst a feminist backdrop and explore what it looks like when a Black woman wants just as much as a man, pursues it, and the social implications that unfold. She will additionally perform selections from her acclaimed EP, Some Hidden Treasure (2020).
The performing ensemble will include Marcos Varela (bass), Willerm Delisfort (piano/keys), Immanuel Williams (guitar), Elijah Jamal Balbed (saxophone), and Jerome Gillespie II (drums/percussion).

Alicia Waller is a genre-expanding vocalist, composer, and bandleader recognized for the contemporary fusion ensemble Alicia Waller & The Excursion. With the release of her EP, Some Hidden Treasure (2020), she emerged into original work, focusing on the intersection of jazz, soul, and vernacular sounds. Known for the luminous warmth of her voice and her captivating approach, Waller creates a rich, expressive tapestry that has been praised as a synthesis of splendor, creativity, and depth.
